Dear Grandma,
As I sit down to reflect on this seventh anniversary of your passing, my heart is heavy with the weight of both sorrow and gratitude. Your life was a tapestry woven with threads of hardship and resilience, love and loss, and though the pain of your absence still cuts deep, I find solace in the enduring legacy of strength and courage you left behind.
You endured more than your fair share of hardships, Grandma. The scars of a broken marriage, the loss of a precious child, and the struggles of single parenthood weighed heavily upon your shoulders. Yet, despite the storms that raged around you, you stood tall, a beacon of strength and resilience in the face of adversity.
I cannot fathom the depths of your pain or the sacrifices you made, but I carry your story with me always—a testament to the power of the human spirit to overcome even the greatest of obstacles. Your life was a testament to perseverance, determination, and unwavering love—a love that sustained you through the darkest of days and continues to guide me in your absence.
Though the road was rough and the journey long, you never wavered in your commitment to your family. You worked tirelessly, juggling multiple jobs to put food on the table and provide for those you loved. Your hands may have been calloused, Grandma, but they were always open—open to give, to comfort, and to love without reservation.
And so, as I remember you today, I am filled with a profound sense of gratitude—for the lessons you taught me, the sacrifices you made, and the love you shared so freely. Your life may have been marked by hardship, but it was also defined by love—a love that transcends time and space, binding us together across generations.
Though you may no longer be with us in body, your spirit lives on in the hearts of all who knew you, a guiding light in our darkest hours. Grandma, know that you are loved beyond measure and missed more than words can express.
With all my love,
Your grandson Benjamin T.

Sharon was a kind a dear friend with a heart of gold. She supplied my daughter’s animal hospital with boxes of mints and even delivered them herself even though she was extremely scared of dogs. When asked how she could walk into the place, she answered I looked in before to make sure it was empty :).
Her absolutely favorite restaurant was Andrews and always ordered their BBQ chicken with plenty of napkins, her salad chopped, a glass of ice water, a straw and an extra glass of ice. I was fortunate to be with her during her last visit to Andrews at the end of April.
When I would visit her in the hospital, rehab center or take her to the doctor, she would tell people (employees and patients) we were both retired teachers, what school I use to work at and that my daughter was a vet. It use to bother me but now I realize it was because she was so proud of us and of being a teacher. Despite being sick, she worked as a substitute for as long as she could because she loved little kids and being a teacher gave her a sense of purpose.
Rest in peace my friend. You will be missed! XOXOXO
~Chris
